‘Sustainability, durability and quality’ seem to be the words to describe the brand, using quality materials and fabrics to produce their products. Which what have triggered the public’s interest about this new brand. They work with sustainable and organic fabrics, such as recycled cashmere, organic cotton and ocean waste material. Not only do they produce staple worthy clothes but they also care for the environment whilst supplying ‘catwalk-worthy’ clothes.
Arket is said to be focusing on style rather than trends, which is a change from the other brands out there on the High Street. The clothes are classic staples for the everyday man, woman and even child. Crisp and clear would be the best way to describe it. The colour range is aesthetically pleasing to the eye, making almost everyone succumb to their clothes.
Arket also dips into bath and body, launching shower gels, body lotions and hand balms. The scents are cult classic, floral scents of ‘Geranium’ to woody ‘oak moss’. Arket appreciate simplicity, urging the message of living a simple life.
In questioning is their price, although the prices seem to be higher than H&M, Bernhardtz does not think this seems to matter. “Low is not the goal. The goal is always to have the best quality and price for comparable product, we have a great price range.” I would say I have to agree, the prices are reasonably placed for the quality of fabrics, and it is worth the price being paid.
With only one store open so far, in Regents Street, Arket is soon to be opened in Stockholm, Brussels and Copenhagen.
I see Arket revolutionising the high street, with their crisp clothes and beautifully scented body lotions. This is the new brand to look out for.
