But that does not mean I don't wear a little colour from time to time. I'm shockingly a fan of red, it's a classic and beautiful colour, and if worn right it can really make an outfit complete. It makes an outfit a statement!
I am most comfortable in neutral, earthy tones but it is when I feel like dressing up a little bit more that I decide to wear a little bit of colour. I don't think I could wear an all red outfit, that would be too much for me to stomach. You would not see me wearing bright, neon greens or blues for that matter either.
But I can wear top or knit jumper. So, I took this deep, blood red knit (Mango) and paired it with my beloved corduroy pants (&OtherStories). It's essential to let the colour stand out against a more toned down colour. Either white or black would compliment the red.
I finished the look with a pair of loafers (&OtherStories) and to me, it felt like a true back to school outfit.
I try not to be afraid of adding a little colour to my wardrobe. I prefer investing in pieces that I know I will continue to love years later and I feel this low turtleneck number will be in my wardrobe for a while.
I hope this inspires those, who like me, are a little afraid of bright colours. You never know which colours work best for you if you don't try them!
